A day in the life of one of our patients

We typically have you drop off your pet in the morning between 7:00-7:45 a.m. and we schedule a discharge appointment between 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Our dental cleaning package includes:

  • Full physical and oral exam
  • Dental scaling and polishing
  • Fluoride application
  • Gas anesthesia
  • Injectable sedation and pain medications
  • Anesthetic monitoring including blood pressure, EKG, pulse ox, and end tidal CO2
  • Full mouth dental X-rays
  • Dental charting
  • IV catheter and fluids
  • Nail trim
  • Day hospitalization

After the dental, our doctor will evaluate the dental x-rays and put together a written report. At discharge, if there are any problem teeth, we will have an exact estimate for any treatments we recommend, which can then be scheduled and performed at the second procedure. We recommend doing extractions as a separate procedure so that you can be informed of why the treatments are necessary and not have any surprise costs placed upon you on the day of the dental cleaning. This breaks your pet's procedure into two shorter anesthetic procedures. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can schedule your pet for a dental cleaning and extractions same-day.

Bloodwork options include:

  • Pre-op panel- liver enzymes, kidney values, blood sugar, protein levels, and CBC
  • Total health panel- pre-op panel plus electrolytes, cholesterol, thyroid levels, and urinalysis
